Balenciaga

Spring- Summer 2014– Alexander Wang for Balenciaga created a very subtle shaded and structured collection for spring/ summer. The silhouettes had the luxury sports theme running through the collection, one which Wang is renowned for, a particular favourite is the leathered panelled crop top with a mesh under lay. Wang has beautiful curved cropped jackets in a raffia fabric and teaming them with trapeze cut skirts. The silhouettes remained architectural during the collection with the emphasis on strong cut tailoring and the use of a peplum, which is usually evident within this, brands pieces.

Paris fashion shows are always about the chic dresser and this collection is a Parisian dream with a subtle under tone monochrome colour pallet with hints of mellow shades such as pinks and blues. The clever use of print which when close up is actually technically constructed fabric is genius and team that with the beautiful starch white and blue floral motifs and we have another stunning collection from Balenciaga this season.
