Slingback

A sling back is type backless shoe with a strap behind the heel or ankle. The strap comes from the front and round to the ankle with some sort of buckle, button or elastic fastening. Sling back shoes come in a wide variety of styles from casual to dressy, with heel heights ranging from none too high, closed or open toe. Sling backs have been fashionable since the 1930’s; in the 1960’s in fact they were worn by icons like Audrey Hepburn, seen as a very glamorous style then, they continue to be popular today. Designer Thakoon featured them in his spring/summer 2012 collection.
