Gareth Pugh
Spring – Summer 2014
The Gareth Pugh’s Spring 2014 show was definitely unique. In a futuristic and underwater-like atmosphere, the designer launched the first look, a long-floor blue dress finished off with a pink feather headpiece, which was highly unexpected but promising.
Once again his love for form and volume can be found on the catwalk. The silhouettes are sculptural with geometrical shapes and ostentatious shoulders which give an elegant and strict style to the models. The evolution of Pugh’s work is in the use of colours, known for his dark palette, the designer chose white and blue as the main shades. The silky blue gowns, latex bodices and metallic applique give a mermaid feel.
It seems to be a new era for the young artisitc director.
