Spring-Summer 2014 – Karl Lagerfeld really shines with his work at Fendi and this season it was a cascade of chiffon layered tunic dresses with colours that degrade throughout the collection. The geometric cut away panels make this collection very technical yet delicate. The colours reminiscent of the pantone shade book almost draw you into a sun setting evening in the summer. Every silhouette fell naturally around the body with a variation of lengths to suit everybody the focus was layers, layers and more layers.

Lagerfeld has a knack for combining opposites which look natural together as in the pieces cut in beautiful leather with chiffon over lays. The whole collection is rather like one jigsaw piece and each panel fitting another and over layering to form new parts. Not to mention the use of prints, the whole collection had a Sonia Delaunay feel to it and the showstopper had to be the Disco Ball dress, which make us wants to reach for those shoes and dance the night away. A highlight show so far of Milan fashion week.
