Spring-Summer 2014 – At first it seems like Saint Laurent has drawn inspiration from the iconic decade of the 1980’s with the skinny fit leather trousers, shiny tuxedo jackets and ankle grazers. Mix this together with the bright reds and golds and its definitely dramatic. There’s also a slight hint at power dressing with very formal suit jackets over high neck jumpers or casual t-shirts. Things then start to get a bit blue brothers-esque with black suits, thin ties and of course shades. There’s leather jackets and tuxedo jackets to create a mixture of both smart and casual. One of the things that makes this collection so unique is the use of patterns. There is a tuxedo jacket patterned with zig-zag lines in various colours and black and white checks. There is also stripes and Hawaii prints which make this collection very interesting.
