Swansdown
Swansdown fabric is a general term for any soft, raised fabrics. Cotton Swansdown fabric is typically woven in a Sateen weave. The term ‘Swansdown’ also refers to a fine, soft, thick cloth made of wool. This fabric is usually mixed with silk or wool and woven in a twill weave. The end product is a Fustain fabric like Moleskin. Both of these fabrics can be used for garments but the word ‘Swansdown’ was originally used to describe the down, or fine, soft under feathers of the swan which were used on various garments, although is now rare.
