Repp
Repp fabric is a heavyweight fabric. It is usually manufactured from a variety of materials including cotton, wool, silk, viscose, synthetic fibres or various blends. It is constructed using a plain weave and has a prominent weft wise rib. It is similar to poplin fabric, but is much heavier and similar to faille fabric. Repp fabric is used in dresses, suits and blouses. The silk version of Repp is used frequently in neck ties and the cotton Repp especially is used in stage backdrops. Wool and cotton Repp can also be used for various upholstery purposes.
