Raschel Knit
Raschel Knit fabric is a type of fabric produced by warp knitting. It is produced on the Raschel machine. This machine uses special needles called ‘Latch needles’ Raschel knits do not stretch very well and are often bulky. This means that they are often left unlined when used for coats, jackets, skirts and dresses. Because of this, Raschel knitting is generally confined to making lace fabrics and trimmings, but a wide variety of weights and patterns can be made including lightweight lace or net fabrics all the way up to stretch fabrics to heavy carpet matting.
