Non-Woven’s

Non-woven fabrics are fabrics which are produced without the conventional use of yarns and are not knitted or woven. The fabrics can either be created by the fibres being joined together by chemical, mechanical or thermal methods. These fabrics are typically inelastic and stiff, they also have no defined warp and weft yarns and no straight grain line, meaning that the characteristics of the fabric do not change, regardless of the way the fabric is stretched. This is convenient when cutting pattern pieces from this fabric, as they can be laid on any way. Non-woven fabrics include felt and some fabric coatings. They are also referred to as ‘Bonded-fibre fabrics.’
