Moleskin
Moleskin fabric was traditionally the velvet-like, silky fur of the mole and was used to make hats, waistcoats and coats during the 19th Century. Nowadays, the term Moleskin describes soft, durable fustian fabric. This fabric is usually made from cotton and is similar to suede with its nap on the inside. It is mainly used for protective clothing as it is strong, durable and warm, but can also be used for skirts, trousers and outerwear. Some variants of Moleskin are so densely woven that the can become wind-proof.
