John Richmond

Spring-Summer 2014 – The John Richmond collection for Spring/Summer 2014 starts off by using a really eye-catching pattern. It almost looks like lace, lots of delicately entwined lines, and the white on black is very effective. It appears to use a monochromatic palette until bright golds and yellows are introduced using the same pattern. These patterns work well on both smart suits, as in the first outfit and on hooded tops, making them wearable in many situations. There were crisp white suits; a staple for summer and lime green detail, which was a fresh approach to an otherwise entirely white outfit that I have never seen before. And the patterns! There were so many, ranging from the lines in bright colours to make rectangular shapes, flowing art nouveau patterns, tessellation and kaleidoscopic patterns using only black and white.
