Bonded

Bonded Fabric is a non-woven fabric where the fibres are held together by an adhesive rather than being woven or knitted together.  Bonded fabrics are typically stiff and inelastic with poor durability. The term ‘bonded’ can also refer to a fabric made from two layers of the same fabric, or a fabric and a lining fabric that have been attached to each other either by a chemical process or an adhesive. These kind of bonded fabrics are used for things such as belts, meaning that there is a usable fabric on both sides and there is a neat finish. Bonded fabrics are created for very specific end uses such as for water-repellence, resilience and flame-retardency.
