Autumn-Winter 2010/11 –It was an interesting combination of modernity with a boxy silhouette for Nicolas Ghesquiere. Bubble box skirts came in coral and green, whilst adhering to a slight preppy look when paired with a white blouse and round neck knitted sweater combo. The bubble like skirts alluded to the graphic shapes that were the potent feature of the show. Stripes of all sizes took over the clothes, fat striped tops with thin stripped skirts, some falling vertically, some sweeping across the width of the item. Ultra-skinny trousers with a thick overturned hem beheld splatters of pattern. The collection worked with synthetics. White quilted jacket-like tops contrasted the laser cut lace skirts. Heels created by Perspex and wood were in keeping with the futuristic look. The modern idea was further validated with a colour palette of acid yellow, bright turquoise, and clean white. Ghesquiere produced a bold collection.
