Autumn-Winter 2011/12 – The beauty of Armani Privé transpired today. The collection was dedicated to the culture of Japan. Structured kimono’s were the basis of this. They worked as breast plates and stood up against obi belts. A combination of tight and loose fabrics gave the silhouette a neat look and the models certainly looked prim and proper. The girls wore headdresses from paper and flowers created by Philip Treacy. Printed silks were the order of the day and made for a beautiful two piece suit. Jackets and bootleg trousers bore digitalised cherry blossoms and lotus flowers adding to the already delicate touch. A harder edge came from the predominant colour: black. Tight fitted dresses gave shape to the waist whilst they embraced the beautiful Japanese patterns. A shimmering shine of sequins exploded onto the catwalk for the finale dresses. They were maxi length and gave the collection a spur to the exuberant for a predominantly delicate and classy collection.
