Spring-Summer 2013 – Frida Giannini showed La Dolce Vita in her “chromatic rush,” on the Gucci SS13 menswear catwalk. It was reminiscent of the Talented Mr Ripley, the 1950s hedonistic days when rich socialites would summer in the Riviera and don exquisite style. She moved through the colour spectrum with ease, from opening with a powder green suit to mustard yellow, oranges and reds to Mediterranean sea and sky blues, before settling on elegant black. The prints complemented the sartorial vision, candy stripe ties, floral trousers and print cravats. A collection connoting escape, making us crave travel and igniting our love for summer.
