Autumn-Winter 2012/13 – Kris Van Assche said “I had wanted to do sportswear for quite a while with a more uniform, rather than sporty approach.”  His general attention to tailoring stopped him, but when he realised he could apply the natural Dior Tailoring to sportswear, he jumped at the chance. He named the show “A Soldier on My Own” and a soldier he created with his strict tailoring, military style caps and band collars, khaki green and dark brown. But this soldier was loosened and given a sportier look, baggier trousers, looser jackets, even with a zip up the back to create more freedom in the garment, hooded coats and parka like rain jackets. This application of his classic tailoring to sportswear gave it a refined look, a look true to Dior, and made it easier to take it from the tracks to the streets.
