Max Mara

Autumn-Winter 2013/14

There couldn’t have been a more perfect setting for this seasons Max Mara show as snowflakes fell across Milan. Fashion Director Laura Lusuardi led the famed fashion house into another strong season by sticking to the brands true personality. The catwalk filled with functional simplicity and practical elegance, what Max Mara does best.

There was a nod to the masculine this season with oversize, boxy blazers but the tailoring was softened by luxurious, enveloping fabrics that brought an overtly feminine and indulgent feel. The label stuck to its heritage and had a delicious colour palette of caramels, camel, honey, biscuit and brown. Just when the collection was in danger of seeming repetitive there was a jolt of saffron yellow across a sumptuous coat. The show was classic Max Mara perfected for a new season.
