Spring-Summer 2012 – Nobody would have guessed Summer was on the horizon with Christopher Bailey’s wintery undertone. The rich and wintery colours of dark plum, bronze and greens in combination with the knits and multi-coloured bobble caps fabricated a cosy perception. This was strengthened by the green parkas with raffia hood trims and woven natural fabrics embellished with pom poms. Skirts were worn high and tight around the waist before falling into a tulip shape down to the calves. It was a natural collection as wooden beaded ankle straps replicated wooden beads adorning the neckline -this constructed mosaic patterning. African inspiration was palpable from embroidered lines edging coats; coats that were the pinnacle of style so much so that Anna Wintour was seen wearing the seventies inspired prints only a week later. It may have been slightly on the wintery side, but it had us wanted more.
