Spring-Summer 2012 – The apex of bright and bushy tailed young things, this collection captured the bubblegum pinks and youthfulness that has epitomized the D&G collection. This was just as so for it was the last one of its kind. So for a final time, perhaps, an illumination of colour cascaded down the catwalk: pink, gold, yellow, orange, red and green gathered around the models. Imagine a ‘flamenco whirl’ cited Vogue magazine. It was all about the scarf here. Dresses looked like an amalgamation of scarves wrapped around the waist before producing halter necks and rouched skirts: silk being the fabric of the day. The occasional models wore huge straw hats tied with scarves (obviously). This continued the AW trend that is the oversized hat. Funky, and often clashing patterns, worked well, certifying the ‘riot’ trend of clashing patterns. The collection was symbolic of the D&G we know best. It is with sadness we say bye.
