Balmain

Spring-Summer 2012 – A fashion house of excess and wealth (that’s just the people who buy the clothes) it was nothing out of the normal for Olivier Rousteing who stuck to Balmain’s roots. Think gold embellishment everywhere. In a rodeo inspired style – hands in pockets and lots of swagger – the models donned denim shirts or, more notable, a white jacket adorning tassels along the outer arm. Leather was in abundance and consisted shirts, trousers and maxi-skirts, whilst denim shirts and skirts solidified that ‘giddy up’ feel. White, black and gold dominated the colour palette. Gold buckled belts featured always and ornate gold swirls featured on skirts, shorts and jackets. Amidst the glamour was a laid back lux with loose fitting white blouses looking ever so nonchalant. Tiny hot pants were ever prevalent and skinny trousers sometimes had a kick flare or stopped above the ankle. Fabulous.
