Autumn-Winter 2011/12 – Matthew Williamson pulled out a funky collection. Bright colours for AW will brighten up a dull day with oranges and pinks verging on the neon-esque status. Nonetheless, to create a real winter feel Williamson juxtaposed the array of bright colours with dewy greys, blacks and fur trims. Embroidery was a key look for this collection too, with jewel-coloured mini-dresses that featured beading over the chest. Textures were added with leather biker skirts teamed with padded jackets. Shaggy Mongolian wool (imperative for so many of the winter looks) featured on gilets in grey, black, camel or nude. A slight Aztec pattern was evident in variety of the clothes such as a tight turquoise dress and an orange maxi dress. Almost all were paired with some sort of fur jacket which started from voluptuous waist length camel colour coat to a black long gilet. At the end of the show Poppy Delevigne summed up the collection in one world: “nice”.
