The gloom over Milan’s economy could not be seen anywhere at Salvator Ferragamo’s collection, which hinted at an exclusivity for a club of gentlemen who approach life with an air of sartorial appreciation, yet are juxtaposed with that of urban decay.
The collection formed a monochromatic tone with splashes of red and teal dotted throughout the garments, which focused more on outerwear, as seen with the majority of Milan collections. So with this in mind, a decadent display of knee length double-breasted coats, capes and boxed jackets strode down the runway with special attention being paid to the collar, which came in layers and struck up high on the models necks.
Teamed with other staple items such as chunky knitwear shaped in polo necks and crew necks, it resembled a collection built on utility and strict minimalism that was not overbearing. The shoes came in near wellington, and indicated that Ferragamo man was ready for anything that might be thrown at him.
