One of the most frequently replicated items of Korean clothing is the hanbok, a semi-formal outfit comprised of a short blouse or jacket and an exaggerated full skirt. It can be also be characterised by its use of simple lines and lack of pockets, as well as the vibrant colours that were typical of the old design, although the exaggerated full skirt and short blouse is constantly being reworked and modernised by young designers. Nowadays, due to the surging popularity of various Korean pop bands, Korean fashion is more typically associated with youth culture and Asian street style. Featuring cartoon-bright colours and fun clashing prints, Korean street style culture is an evident influence for up-and-coming designers such as Fam Irvoll whose novelty backpacks and bright garments could be taken from the streets of Korea.
