The theme that “greed is good” in this movie is very clearly reflected in the styles of the characters. The slicked back hair and red braces worn with impeccably tailored suits and silk ties screamed: money!

The standard was being set for men’s power fashions and Wall Street was the ultimate source of wealth. The arrogance and greed of the power hungry traders meant there was now competition of style, like there always has been with cars and gadgets. Who has the most expensive suit?
