Bringing Up Baby (1938)

Howard Greer, the lead costume designer in the golden age of Hollywood, did not disappoint in this flirty comedy about a rather dippy heiress who falls for a palaeontologist and amongst confusion feels he is the right person for him to help her bring up Baby, her pet leopard.

Katherine Hepburn epitomises Hollywood glamour with her evening gowns in gold lame and her white lace and fur dressing gown. Katherine, who was known throughout her career as a trusted fashionista who could demand her own choice of costume a lot of the time, was also seen wearing menswear inspired outfits in this movie, glamorising the trouser suit and therefore making it a lot more popular with women.
