The Three Days of the Condor (1975)

The Three Days of the Condor

Robert Redford´s trend setting ways reached an all-time high when he simultaneously filmed The Great Gatsby and Three days of the Condor. Although the latter wasn’t as obviously fashionable as the former, Three days of Condor still went on to become an iconic film in fashion today, aptly being nicknamed Three days of the Collar.

Redford´s character CIA agent Joseph Turner, is on the run so is only seen wearing one outfit through the film’s entirety; a tweed jacket over a blue shirt with light jeans and an occasional black jumper or overcoat. His upturned collar became a fashion statement in itself and the epitome of cool, giving him a purposefully unkempt look that is still popular today. He also championed the aviator sunglasses that has become a look synonymous with the authoritative hero of the police force.
