Madras
Madras patterns are brightly coloured, checked or striped patterns. The horizontal and vertical stripes or checks are generally uneven and can be made in various colours. Madras patterns are colour woven, which means that pre-dyed warp and weft yarns are used, resulting in interesting colour mixes when the warp and wefts intersect. This pattern originated in India and is mainly used for shirting.
