Negative Space

Negative space patterns are patterns which use the space in between the motifs or designs as a feature in the pattern. These are very often created using only black and white so that the contrast between positive and negative space is obvious. These can be made using various different patterns, motifs and repeats to create very different designs. They are usually printed onto the finished fabric.
